UFC Fight Night: Dos Santos vs. Ivanov fight card and bout order

The UFC is headed to Boise, Idaho for the first time ever, and they’ve built a very solid lineup of fights for this Saturday night at CenturyLink Arena. In the main event, ex-UFC heavyweight king Junior dos Santos returns to action against former WSOF champion Blagoy Ivanov. The co-main features Sage Northcutt once again at welterweight, taking on veteran Zak Ottow.

Looking at the rest of the main card, Chad Mendes returns from his USADA suspension against Myles Jury, while Marion Reneau could potentially clinch a women’s bantamweight title shot if she can get past Cat Zingano. One matchup that I feel has wrongly been put on the prelims (not even in the featured spot!) is a featherweight battle between Darren Elkins and Alex Volkanovski.

Youth is the name of the game for the Fight Pass portion of UFC 227. Marlon Vera is the most experienced member – in terms of fights in the UFC with 8 – and he’s just 25. In terms of age, Kyung Ho Kang is the oldest member on this portion of the card at 30. That isn’t exactly young, but he hasn’t seen his best days yet. Expect to see these guys moving up the pecking order of the card in the near future… except the flyweights. They’re permanently banned from the main card. The Fight Pass prelims begin at 6:15 PM ET/3:15 PM PT on Saturday. Bethe Correia pulled from UFC 227, Irene Aldana won’t get replacement

The first issues have struck UFC 227 . Just a few days before the card, it appears that the California State Athletic Commission has decided to pull women’s bantamweight fighter Bethe Correia from her fight with Irene Aldana . The reason? Something to do with her eye. MMA Brasil’s Matheus Costa on Twitter posted the news, with original credit to AG Fight: Bethe Correia is out of UFC 227. The CSAC has detected a problem in her left eye and made she pull out of the card. Aldana will be also removed from the card.
